Description
The Megger Advanced range of 5 kV, 10 kV, and 15 kV insulation resistance testers is ideal for engineers and technicians performing insulation testing on transformers, motors, switchgear, and cables in environments up to 230 kV. These instruments support IR, DAR, PI, DD, SV, ramp, and PDC (with software), providing the diagnostic depth needed for condition assessment and maintenance planning.
Each model includes PI Predictor™ to speed up testing, internal memory for storing results, and optional Bluetooth® for exporting data to PowerDB or CertSuite — no manual recording required.
The new innovative patent applied RE>Act test mode allows the user to make accurate measurements by monitoring reabsorption current. This groundbreaking test mode can ensure reabsorption current does not result in incorrectly passing or failing insulation, helping to maintain safety. In addition, the test mode can be used to ensure dangerous return voltages to not occur.
Choose from three models — MIT525/2, MIT1025/2, and MIT1525/2 — based on your required test voltage. With 6 mA noise immunity and high-performance guard terminals, the Advanced range delivers reliable results where remote control and substation-level noise handling are not required.

Which insulation tester is right for me?
Megger offers three insulation tester ranges: Essential, Advanced, and Expert. Choose Essential for go/no-go testing where storage isn’t needed — ideal for basic maintenance. Choose Advanced if you need deeper diagnostics and onboard storage, but not remote control. Choose Expert if you work in noisy substation environments or need full remote testing. Once you’ve selected the right level, simply choose the test voltage (5, 10, or 15 kV) for your application.
Can I export results for reporting?
Yes. The Advanced range features built-in memory and USB connectivity as standard, plus optional Bluetooth®. Test results can be exported directly to PowerDB or CertSuite to support documentation, compliance, and long-term record keeping.
What diagnostic tests does the Advanced range support?
All Advanced models support a full suite of diagnostic test modes, including IR, DAR, PI, DD, step voltage, ramp, and PDC (with software). These tests are essential for in-depth insulation condition assessment on critical assets like transformers, cables, motors, and switchgear.
Is the Advanced range suitable for noisy environments?
Yes — the Advanced models offer 6 mA of noise immunity, making them suitable for environments up to 230 kV. This ensures stable, reliable results in moderately noisy conditions, such as industrial plants or distribution-level substations. For extreme electrical noise or testing above 230 kV, the Expert range is recommended.
